Pharmaceutical Sciences:

Our pharmaceutical sciences program provides instruction and research training in diverse aspects of drug action including drug discovery and drug evaluation, examined at the molecular, genomic, biochemical, biological, and clinical levels through an interdisciplinary curriculum individualized to the needs of each student.Emphasis on clinical and laboratory research focusing on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, dosage form design, physiochemical and biological aspects of drug action, drug metabolism, and drug toxicity.

Students interested in the pharmaceutical sciences can chose to enter via the undergraduate BS degree program or through various graduate programs such as BS/MS, MS, PhD, and postdoctoral positions.

Our PhD graduates, in particular, are highly sought after by the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

  

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

The PharmD program is a four-year professional program, following undergraduate pre-pharmacy coursework.It is a professional degree that enables one to work as a pharmacist, interacting with patients and other health care practitioners for matters involving treatment by medications.

Our PharmD graduates are among the most sought-after in the country.As part of a program that promotes excellence, integrity, and leadership, we prepare the pharmacist as a therapeutic drug manager to be a member of the health-care team.Our graduates pursue many career options, including community pharmacy, hospital- or clinic-based practice, and at universities, government agencies, and pharmaceutical and biotech companies.Many receive advanced training in order to work with specific populations ranging from newborns to the elderly, as well as to focus in specialties such as cardiology and infectious disease.
